Wintry Mix Playlist
I was bummer about the weather, so I made a playlist to match/lift my spirits. It was on repeat all day at work, and will continue being on repeat all night.
One Sweet Love-Sara Bareilles
Paperweight-Schuyler Fisk and Joshua Radin
Breakable-Ingrid Michaelson
The Trapeze Swinger-Iron and Wine
Fidelity-Regina Spektor (LOVING this song right now)
The Piano Song-Meiko

What is this, Ithaca?
Today’s weather went from grey mistiness to rain, to sleet, to hail, to snow, back to sleet, and eventually rain again. I left Ithaca for a reason, people! Mostly because of the whole graduation thing, but also the weather.
I just keep telling myself that in less than 10 days I’ll be under the sunny skies of COSTA RICA!
Why Boys Like Girls Who Wear Sweatpants
ryanpurtill:
Every now and then a girl will mention how sweet a boy is because he said “I think you look beautiful in just sweat pants”
For the girls out there this is not a sweet thing to say.
Boys like girls in sweat pants because we only see girls in sweat pants when they sleep over or if they are comming over to watch a romantic comedy in your dorm room. These occasions usually lead to...
When I was in college, I used to get wicked hammered. My nickname was Puke. I...

Who says consumer spending is down?
Because I’m a consumer, and my spending is waaayy up.
I just got back from a 5 hour shopping spree at Short Hills (which, as it turns out, is a rather ritzy mall). I bought:
leather ankle boots (Aldo)
leather pumps (Ann Taylor…only $7!)
2 sweaters (Anthropologie)
skinny jeans (Express)
Everything I bought was on sale, but it was still too much money. Also, the original point of...

Is it just me, or does this seem like a particularly awesome cast?
Betty: Buying stuff on sale…that’s not exactly saving money....
– Ugly Betty
That’s how I feel right now. I’m running low on funds after all my application fees, but this is the first Saturday without class I’ve had in a loooong time, so I’m going shopping! It’s really just for the benefit of the economy. I’m actually being...

In Minnesota, How Many Fingers Am I Holding Up -... →

What if the 2000 presidential election had hinged not on a diverse, messy, weird and slightly creepy hick state like Florida but on the most organized, practical and cordial one in the Union: Minnesota? What if, instead of going to court after court over hanging chads and butterfly ballots and whether a recount should happen, election officials had just calmly looked at each...
We definitely don’t have those in England.
– Hugh Laurie, upon being told that the definition of the American slang “badonkadonk” meant “an extremely curvaceous female behind”, from here. English ladies’ll make him rue the day he said that, I’m certain. (via inothernews)
I miss this show.
Phoebe: They don’t know we know they know we know. And Joey, you can’t say anything.
Joey: Couldn’t even if I wanted to.
Cellophane Kiss 2.0!!
New, improved, and better than ever.
P.S. This is one of the best episodes of the best show ever.

Why now?
I’ve been waiting and waiting for snow for weeks. I really, really wanted some snow. Really. And now, it finally started snowing, but it happens to be at a really horrible time. I’m about to leave to go out with people and have to drive a long way to get there. I don’t want to drive in the snow, but here I go anyway, in my attempt to expand (re-create) my social life. ...
just an all-around mess.
Div: ok, enough of this. i'm gonna go shower and do chores
my life is a mess
Div: and by my life i mean my house
me: you're a better person than i
me: yes
me: my kitchen is like your house
me: but instead i'm gonna mess around online some more
Div: and my life is actually like your kitchen too
...
My life is still a mess, but at least my house is clean now! (see next 2 posts)

I should be packing
I haven’t done anything productive all night long. I came straight home from work, instead of running the errands I needed to. I bummed around on the internet for a while. I ate leftovers for dinner. I watched House. I bummed around on the internet some more. I sat on the floor in front of my closet pretending to make decisions about what to pack for my trip home. And now I’m...
