Sounds interesting
thanks to brooklyn-based hasidic designer levi okunov, a new boutique will be opening at 174 mott street this friday. wait for it…it will also be a soup kitchen. according to racked, 1929 “will sell top quality clothing and accessories at depression era prices” and “free warm cup[s] of soup. 1929 is not just a place to spend money. it is a refuge from the despair we are all facing.” it seems like an interesting concept, but i won’t hold my breath for a free roll.
I’d be curious to check it out. I suppose you can’t really go wrong with free soup?
